1. Lockharts Chetruda Secret Asset

This young man was just six months old and was really enjoying his day out. He has a good head shape with defined chiselling that gave a pleasing expression. Clean through neck and shoulder, with good front angulation. Body length of correct proportion, well made quarters with a moderate bend of stifle. Moved adequately, just needs to find his feet.

Puppy Dog - 2

1. Calverts Calvdale Great Escape

A very smart young man who commands attention and as usual from this kennel presented to perfection. He has a clean outline on the stack. His head is masculine and balanced with defined chiselling, I hope this is the finished article. Front construction is good with a powerful neck which led on to a good lay back of shoulder. Good length of body, ribs well sprung and good through the loin. Hindquarters correctly angled with a moderate bend of stifle and hocks well let down. Right for his age in terms of muscle tone. On the move he covered the ground with such ease, accurate in footfall and the correct amount of drive and pace.  I am usually reluctant to give puppies top honours but in the challenge Great Escape just lifted his game and out moved the rest of the competition. Delighted to award him Best Dog. If he carries on developing in this vein I am sure he will have a bright future.

Novice Dog - 1

1. Downwards Reubens' Razzle Dazzle

Another baby, this young chap is just 9 months old but not together yet as the puppy winner and gave away a lot in maturity. His is a little strong for my tastes at the moment but will refine down and he needs to darken in eye, but he should do that with age. Good through neck and shoulders, well bodied and ribs well back. Quarters correctly angulated. Unfortunately wouldn’t settle on the move today, just needs time to get his act together.

Graduate Dog - 1

1. Furness's Shelcasrie Flint

Black and White chap, just over two. Head has good overall proportions but a shade strong in back skull for my tastes, good eye colour, Powerfully made neck, shoulders placement OK. Slightly longer in the body but maintained balance. Quarters well made with stifles well bent. Movement was positive just not quite the fluidity in the action.

1. Larges' Mompesson Riot is Madaza

He has a clean outline on the stack. His head is masculine and balanced with defined chiselling, slightly strong in back skull. Powerful neck, front construction is good, would like a shade more lay back of shoulder. Good length of body, ribs well sprung and a muscular loin. Hindquarters OK, hocks well let down. To nitpick today I wished he had more fluidity on the move – although his movement was sound and of the correct action he struggled to get in to his stride.

2. Glendennings' Plaiglen Hustle

Black and white with a super head, correct amount of chiselling and work.  Neck of moderate length and powerful, well laid shoulders and desired return of upper arm, ribs well back and firm through loin, quarters well developed and moderate bend to stifle.  Thought he would win this class but he just threw it away and wouldn’t cooperate with his handler. Moved true and soundly just needed to get into his stride. I hope he gets his act together as he has promise.

Limit Dog - 2

1.Happs' Jorobaden Alderniti of Emmiana JW

Typical head and expression with correct chiselling and fluting, kind expression and good balance. Clean neck leading on to well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm.  Depth to chest and ribs well back.  Level topline and good through the loin.  Quarters well developed and correct bend to stifle.  Held his topline throughout and good finish to croup.  Moved well and covered the ground in profile. Lovely type of dog who I have always admired and on first glance thought would be my principal winner but he was carrying too much weight and this showed on the move.

2.Larges' Mompesson Flawless is Madaza

Balanced male just rising three years old, masculine in head, just a shade short in muzzle so can look a little hard. Clean through neck and shoulders. Front assembly OK but would like a better lay back of shoulder.  Well bodied with a good spring of rib, adequate depth of chest and correct length of loin. Just carrying too much weight for my taste. Quarters well made. Movement was positive, he was just not as tidy as front as the winner and lacked the drive. Nice type of dog.

Open Dog - 2

1.Smiths' Mistilys Golden Flash Over Melverly

A smart young man just over four years old with a lot to like about him. He has recently gained his title and I can see why. Masculine in head and expression. Strong neck and good front assembly, nicely developed chest and ribs well sprung. Powerful quarters with correct angulation. The better mover in the class as he had the more correct front action. Unfortunately in the challenge was not as positive on the move as Great Escape and on the final lap he just threw in the towel on the move, so lost top honours and therefore had to settle for Reserve Best Dog.

2.Traczs' Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate ShCM

A smart young man just over three four years old with a lot to like about him, and superbly presented. Masculine in head and expression. Strong neck, nicely developed chest and ribs well sprung. Powerful quarters with correct angulation. Moved out well but not quite the action of the winner.

1.Glendenning & Osborne's Beaters Bedazzled

Pretty bitch, 9 months, with a pleasing feminine head and expression which is still developing. Clean reach of neck which led on to well placed shoulders, good front angulation. Correctly proportioned body, loin short, strong in topline, well made hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Movement was a little erratic as she was having fun, but she did enough to win the class. Best Puppy Bitch

2.Calvdale Sugarrush

Litter sister to my best dog and a lot to like about her. I liked her overall shape and style, attractive head and expression. Clean reach of neck and correctly placed shoulders. Good length of body, slightly long in loin at the moment, quarters well angulated, hocks well let down. Initially thought she would be the winner but she threw away her chances on the move, she was just not happy on the matting.

Junior Bitch - 3 (1)

1.Calverts' Calvdale Material Witness

A super bitch with a lot of quality. Most beautiful feminine head and expression, so right for her age. Clean reach of neck which led on to correctly placed shoulders, good front angulation. Correct length of body, with well spring ribs. Quarters well made, adequate bend of stile and hocks well let down. Movement was a little erratic at first but once she settled was positive and covering the ground well.

Young lady who presented a clean outline. She has a feminine head and expression, a good reach of neck which led. Shoulder placement OK, good length of body and quarters well made. Movement was adequate once she settled.

Yearling Bitch - 2

A super bitch from this kennel. Lovely feminine head and expression. Clean reach of neck which led on to correctly placed shoulders, good front angulation. Body OK just a shade long in loin, good spring of ribs. Quarters well made, with a good bend of stile and hocks well let down. Movement was positive but she just didn’t like the floor and could not get in to a proper stride.

Nice type of bitch with a good head and expression. Clean through neck and shoulders, would just like more depth of chest. Good length of body with ribs OK. Adequate rear angulation, good on the move. .

1.Holts' Trimere Twist Of Fate at Bethryn

Elegant in outline, good head shape and soft expression, neck of moderate length and leading to well placed shoulders with good return of upper arm.  Depth to chest but would like a little more width. Ribs well back and firm in loin, quarters well developed and.  True movement and plenty of drive she just a shade close behind.

I must admit to not being a fan of this bitch when I have seen her before from the ringside as she usually carries a very heavy coat, but she looked very different as she was just returning from a litter. When I got my hands on her I was not disappointed. Her head and expression is feminine with defined chiselling and good definition. Good depth of chest OK for her age and proportionate length of body. Quarters well made with a moderate bend of stifle, not over angulated in any way. She moved positively and covered the ground with ease both in profile and fore and aft, just a shade close behind. Delighted to award her Reserve Best Bitch

Young lady who presented a clean outline. She has a feminine head and expression, a good reach of neck which led. Shoulder placement OK, body OK just a shade long in loin and quarters well made. Movement was adequate once she settled.

1.Cunliffe's' Sh Ch/Ir Ch Calvdale My Girl of Fallenleaf JW ShCM

Last judged this lady as a puppy when she won top honours under me, and did not disappoint today as the finished article. She presents a lovely picture of balance on the stack. She has a beautiful feminine head shape and expression.  Clearly defined chiselling and fluting and lovely eye colour. Neck of good length and muscular which led on to well laid shoulders and correct front angulation.  Body of proportionate length with good depth of chest, ribs well sprung and muscular through the loin. Quarters excellent with stifles well bent and hocks well let down. Nearly threw he chances away in the challenge as she has a habit of dropping in to a untidy skipping movement but got her act together to win Best Bitch and then Best In Show.

Veteran Bitch - 1

1.Gibsons Calvdale Come Catch Me

Another who I have encountered before and appreciated. Feminine head with a pretty expression.  Correct length of neck and depth of body with well sprung ribs set back.  Quarters well made, straight well boned legs and neat feat. She just lacked a little drive and couldn’t one quite match the principle winners, however delighted to award her Best Veteran in Show.

He was a different dog in this class compared to the challenge, he moved around the ring as if he owned it.
