The Lancs & Cheshire English Springer Spaniel Club would like to invite you to one or both of our shows held during the year
We hold an Open show, to help promote up and coming judges for the breed, both 'specialists' and 'non-breed specialist'
Annually we also hold a breed Championship Show, a prestigious affair, with judges ranging from 1st timers, overseas, and old custodians of the breed.
We hope that you will be able to support our shows, and we look forward to offording you a very warm welcome.
Open Show Judge 2025

My interest in pedigree dogs started in 1995 when my family obtained our first Labrador, however showing didn’t become an interest of mine until around 5 years later. At that time, in Scotland, Barbara Ganarin was campaigning her lovely ESS and I was occasionally asked to help her show her dogs. This included "Eddie" - Sh Ch Berkenbar Carrera - whom I showed on a few occasions, and where my interest in the breed really started as he was such a lovely dog and worthy champion.
Whilst my two main showing breeds at the moment are Gordon Setters and Weimaraners, where I have owned champions, group winners, and best in show winners in each breed, I have also owned an Irish Setter and a Pointer Champion and we have Border Terriers and a whippet at home. Outside of dogs I have a successful flock of Shetland Sheep – which we also show, of course!
I am now passed to award CC's in 12 gundog breeds, and the group at championship level, and I’m a KC Accredited Trainer. I am really looking forward to judging your open show and I thank the Club for the very kind invitation; I can’t wait to judge your beautiful breed.
