Hello

I would like to thank the club and committee for inviting me to judge the show and extending Linda and I such fantastic hospitality a big pat on the back for a friendly show extremely well run. A big thankyou to Ken and Clair Green and Helen Merry also to my Stewards Kay Woodward and Sandy Hall for their assistance. It was an absolute privilege to have such a lovely entry of quality dogs a big thankyou to the exhibitors for travelling so far for my opinions and showing such good sportsmanship in accepting my decisions. I found the breed consistent with the majority showing correct balance, lay of shoulder, and dark almond eyes divided by fluting giving the head such softness and true Springer Type. I would have preferred a much larger ring to see the dogs get into stride, generally movement was sound and gait correct Springer. It was certainly a most enjoyable day.

1 Glendinning Plaiglen Beater Bstylish

. L/W 7-month-old happy boy, pleasing head slightly short in muzzle but with good depth and length of back skull, dark eye almond shape giving soft expression, depth of body level top line with correct tail set and carriage. Plenty of bone and tight feet.  Hindquarter moderately bent with good muscle tone. Shoulder slightly steep restricting reach.  

2 Topliss Beresford Night Do

. L/W 7-month-old happy boy, pleasing head slightly short in muzzle but with good depth and length of back skull, dark eye almond shape giving soft expression, depth of body level top line with correct tail set and carriage. Plenty of bone and tight feet.  Hindquarter moderately bent with good muscle tone. Shoulder slightly steep restricting reach.

1 Jenkinson Eastriding Delaration

/W pleasing, balanced head with dark almond eye.  Slightly steep in shoulder.  Well sprung ribs and carried well back, slightly long in loin. Body had depth with level top line.   Forequarter was balanced with hindquarter, good bone with tight feet.

 

JD 2

1  Woodbridge. Crackerjanne Court Jester.L/W Lovely balanced dog of correct size appealing head, balanced, skull broad slightly rounded.  Muzzle had depth, flat cheeks and was well chiseled.  Eye colour light at the time but will darken with age.  Good length of neck into well laid back shoulders. Level top line and well sprung ribs. Moderately angled hindquarter - balanced with forequarter.   Well boned with tight compact feet. A  little close coming and going.

2  Jenkinson. Eastriding Invictus. L/W Compact dog.  Balanced head with deep square muzzle of good length, head planes slightly divergent, correct ear set. Moderate neck, shoulders a little steep, correct spring in ribs and short coupled.  Well boned tight feet.  In full coat moved freely.

 

 

YD 3

1 Smith Melverly Top Geezer

L/W Quality young dog with lots of promise.  Correctly balanced head with deep strong square jaw.  Soft expression, dark eye of correct shape.  Good length of neck slightly arched into well laid sloping shoulder. Level back, deep well sprung ribs, compact body with correct tail set. Stifle and hocks well bent.  Well boned forequarter with length of upper arm.  Feet need to be a little more compact.  In good coat and condition he moved with reach and drive.

2 Rose Westaway Dream Angus of Rosannoch

/W Another dog with lots of promise.  Overall smaller than 1.  Pleasing head and expression with depth of muzzle.  Arched neck, although a little throaty.  Well laid shoulders with sufficient length of upper arm.  Level top, line chest deep, well sprung in rib but needs slightly less length to loin.  Correct tail set, well let down in hock, well boned and in good condition.  Moved close behind but had reach and drive.

L/W Strong, compact dog with good lay of shoulder, slightly short and narrow in muzzle compared to skull, head plains divergent, well ribbed back, deep chest, short loin,  correct tail set.  Strong hindquarter, hocks well let down, balanced fore and aft.  In good coat and condition moved with reach and drive.

L/W/T stronger dog than 1 and on the upper limit.  Balanced head with correct planes and good width and depth.   Dark almond shaped eye with soft expression.  A little throaty. good lay of shoulder, compact and short in back, firm level top line.  Deep chest with strong well shaped hindquarter.  Forequarter had ample bone.  Moved freely in good coat and condition.

L/W Pleasing head with soft expression and dark eye, correct ear set, good length of neck flowed into sloping well laid shoulders.  Firm level topline, well ribbed back coupled to short loin, tail set slightly low, deep chest well sprung ribs. Balanced quarters front and rear moved well. In good coat and condition.

2 Elliot Peasblossom Nemesis with Jonobar

L/W pleasing head shape depth of muzzle and eye colour.  Correct ear set, slightly steep shoulders, level topline, deep well sprung ribs that were ribbed back, would have preferred less loin.  Hindquarter had shape but need more turn to stifle.  Well boned.  In lovely condition, moved well.

L/W/T Balanced head with dark almond shaped eye giving a kind expression.  Skull and muzzle had length with depth. Correct ear set. Arched, strong neck of good length, well laid shoulders into firm level back.  Deep in chest and well ribbed back, slightly long in loin.  Hindquarter well rounded, elbows tight well boned with rounded tight compact feet.  In good condition he moved with power, reach and drive. RCC.

L/W compact dog with pleasing head.  Correct eye, medium length of neck flowing into slightly steep shoulder.  Deep chest. well ribbed back and short in loin. Level topline and tail well set. Balanced angulation with enough bone.  Hocks well let down.  Tight feet.  In good condition and coat he moved well.

Notte L/W. This dog headed a lovely quality class, winning on his beautiful balance.  Compact with substance showing strength without coarseness.  Head of medium length and correct plains with fluting, dark well shaped eye giving a soft but masculine expression.  Lovely reach of arched neck into long sloping well laid shoulder. Deep body and well sprung in rib, firm level topline and correct tail set.  Strong well rounded and angled hindquarter which balanced his front. Well boned and in good coat and condition, he moved freely with reach and driving from behind. A pleasure to award him DCC and Runner up in Show.

Winchester L/W another dog with quality.  Balanced head with deep, square muzzle, dark almond shaped eye divided with fluting.  Kind but alert expression, long lobular ears with correct set, good length of neck into well laid back shoulders level topline, deep chest well sprung ribs, short in loin.  Strong hindquarter well rounded, Forequarter had length of upper arm and strong bone, well put down in excellent condition and coat, move well.

L/W Compact dog with overall balance.  Skull medium in width and length.  Slightly less stop and a darker eye would give a better expression. Moderate neck into sloping well laid shoulders, level topline, well ribbed back with short loin and correct tail set. Moderate angulation, good bone and feet, moved well.

L/W, compact dog, well laid in shoulder.  Firm level topline, well sprung ribs with depth.  Tail set slightly low off the croup.  Moderate in angulation.  In good condition, moved true.

1 Tracz Sh Ch Meadowdale Alabama Slammer at Acregate ShCM

L/W Balanced dog of good type.  Head was pleasing, well shaped with chiseling. Deep in chest, well laid shoulder, level topline with correct tail set.  Well boned, balanced front and rear, moved well for his age in good condition and full coat.

2 Drinkall Mompesson Tribute To Esscroft

L/W/T A compact dog with a balanced head and kind expression.  Moderately arched neck, sloping shoulder.   Deep in chest,  short in loin with a firm level top line.  Moderate angulation and well boned tight feet. A happy dog in good condition.

L/W 7-month-old, happy puppy skipped and hopped around the ring having a great time. Balanced with a pleasing feminine head with dark eye for her age.  Arched neck but slightly steep in shoulder. Compact body with firm top line for age.  Correct tail set and hocks well let down.  Forequarter had sufficient length of upper arm to balance the rear.  Well boned with tight feet.  In good condition.

L/W another promising puppy just lacking a little in confidence today.  Feminine head with tight dark eye lacked a little in width and depth of muzzle.  Arched neck into slightly steep shoulders. Level topline and deep body. Rounded shape to hindquarter with width to second thigh. Well let down in hock, front balanced with rear. Well boned with rounded and tight feet.

1 Calvert Calvdale Beautiful Romance

L/W Quality Puppy with a balanced, feminine head showing work in the muzzle.  A dark eye for her age divided by fluting which gave a soft expression.  Sufficient length of neck flowing into a correct lay of shoulder.  Level topline  and deep body with well sprung ribs for her age. Slightly long in loin.  Well angled hindquarter with good bone and tight, compact feet. I could see she could move with reach and drive but think more training is required. PIS.

B/W lovely young junior with balanced head, correct planes, melting expression and a dark almond eye.  Correct ear set and length of ear. Well ached neck of sufficient length flowing into a well laid shoulder.  Well ribbed back with a level topline and short loin. Correct tail set. Hindquarter lacked a little angulation. Good bone and feet.  Moved with ease and was in good condition and coat.

2 Gun Peasblossom Rumours at Strathnaver

L/W balanced head with correct planes, dark eye and flat cheeks.  Muzzle deep, fairly broad and square.  Neck of good length into  slightly steep shoulders. Topline level and deep, well sprung ribs.  Slightly long in loin.  Tail flowed off the croup.  Hindquarters could have a little more turn but were well muscled. Well boned with, tight feet in lovely condition.

B/W beautifully balanced young lady with lots of potential, Feminine head with correct planes. Dark medium sized eye and correct fluting giving a soft but alert expression   Slight stop giving a soft but alert expression. Clean strong neck into a sloping well laid shoulder.  Level topline, well ribbed back, compact with deep body. Strong well rounded hindquarter good turn of stifle and hocks well let down. In lovely condition, she moved with reach and drive.

L/W/T Compact solid bitch with a  feminine head and kind expression.  Strong neck of good length flowing into well laid shoulders.  Deep body, level topline, well ribbed back and short in loin. Well rounded, strong hindquarter but needed more turn in stifle.  Well boned and hocks well let down. Moved a little wide in front. In good coat and condition.

B/W pleasing expression with dark, well shaped eye.  Skull and muzzle balanced in length  although muzzle lacked slightly in depth. Neck of good length.  A better lay of shoulder would have given a better flow.  Sufficient bone. Level topline, well ribbed back but a bit long in loin.  Correct tail set. In good condition.

L/W Strong Bitch with deep body and balanced head with almond shaped eyes.  Good length of neck and a well-laid shoulder flowing into a level topline. Strong second thigh, powerful, well boned hindquarter. In good coat.

L/W Pleasing head with tight eye and soft expression. Skull fell slightly away at the back but balanced in depth and width.  Medium length of neck, slightly steep in shoulder, deep body with a well sprung rib.  Well muscled hindquarter but lacked in turn of stifle.  Well boned in good condition and coat.

B/W Compact and strong bitch with a lovely feminine head; balanced with dark, almond shaped eye correct ear set and length.  Muzzle tapered a little but did not detract from the workings in the head.  Strongly arched, muscular neck of medium length into well laid shoulders.  Level topline, well sprung ribs with muscular short loin and correctly set tail.  Strong well shaped hindquarter with good boing and hocks well let down. With rounded and compact feet she moved with reach and drive. In lovely coat and condition. RCC

1 Macleay Melverly Misdemeanour for Potrail

L/W Pretty head with soft expression, muzzle square, lovely ear set and length.  Arched neck into shoulder, level topline, ribs well sprung and ribbed back. Needed slightly less loin with better tail set and carriage.  Hindquarter well rounded and strong, with good turn of stifle.  Moved freely.

2 Jenkinson Hollivera's Verona with Eastriding

L/W/T balanced head which had depth to the profile with squared off muzzle. Ears long with correct set, neck with length and arch, a better lay into shoulder would have given a better flow to body which was strong with depth and spring of rib.  Tail set correct but carriage high on the move, slightly long in rear pastern. Well boned but feet could be more compact.

1 Hipgrave Ternspringer Harmone

L/W Feminine head with correct shape, balanced skull to muzzle with depth, correct almond eye but would have liked them to be slightly darker.  Stong neck flowed into a good lay of shoulder.  Level topline, well ribbed but slightly long in loin. Correct tail set, strong hindquarter showing width to second thigh. Well let down hocks with correct amount of bone. Moved freely in full coat.

L/W Pleasing head with soft kind expression  - chiseling and fluting between the eyes.  Depth to muzzle, correct ear set, strong neck with correct shoulders well sprung ribs level topline tail set slightly low.  Strong hindquarter with moderate angulation, sufficient upper arm to allow reach, moved freely. In good condition.

, Beautiful stylish bitch Symmetrically balanced in every way. Head balanced with fluting between the dark well shaped eyes. Muzzle well chiseled, flat cheeks combined with soft kind expression gave the head true springer type.  Good length to a slightly arched neck into a super lay of shoulder. Level topline, deep well sprung ribs, short coupled with correct tail set.  Moderate hindquarter showed strength with hocks well let down, Forequarter had bone and length of upper arm. She moved with that true springer movement from the shoulder showing reach and drive -just lovely. In excellent condition and coat,  I was thrilled to award her BCC and Best in Show.

Well boned and in good coat and condition, she moved well reach with drive.

L/W Balanced pretty head with dark, almond shaped eye. Good fluting and eyebrows gave that true kind melting expression. Strong neck of good length into correct lay of shoulder, deep well sprung ribs and short loin with correct tail set.  Strong hindquarter. Hocks could have been more let down. Well boned with tight compact feet and in super condition she moved easily with reach and drive. VIS
